Story
I run the Cardiff Half Marathon every year and always fundraise for different cancer charities, usually Children with Cancer UK. As I now work for Cardiff University and have become aware of the amazing research we do, it inspired me to join #teamcardiff and fundraise for cancer research.
I lost my beloved Nan to brain cancer 6 years ago, and more and more often I hear of more friends and family who are living with or battling cancer. My husband’s uncle passed away just last week from throat cancer and he was only 67. It would be wonderful to raise some money and make a difference in the hope that the future can be better for everyone who is affected by cancer.
I'm running Cardiff Half Marathon in October 2023 to support Cardiff University's neuroscience and mental health, and cancer research.
I'm supporting the next generation of researchers, to help accelerate life-changing discoveries to improve prevention, diagnosis, and treatment for people living with a wide range of conditions. Cardiff's neuroscience and mental health researchers are developing new treatments for a wide range of debilitating conditions including ADHD, depression, schizophrenia, and Alzheimer's. Cancer researchers at Cardiff University are improving outcomes for people living with some of the most common cancers such as breast, prostate and bowel, as well as those that are rarer or hard to treat.
If you can help, please do. xxx
