Story
On Wednesday 17 August 2011 I climbed Ben Nevis in Scotland (with a little help from my Dad and David [Mountain Man] Marks and my friends at the Lochaber Mountain Rescue Team) to raise the money needed to dig and a well for the Mason Nursery School in the village of Bafuloto in the Gambia, West Africa.
In April this year I visited the school with my Dad and we saw just how urgent the need for a well is, at the moment the little school has no water or electricity and no sanitation, and the children have to walk a long way to get water for drinking or washing their hands in the intense heat. Most of the children attending this school come from desperately poor families, who have a very poor quality of life.
Please help by sponsoring me on my Ben Nevis Climb, and help me to raise the much needed £3,000 to dig this well so that the children will have clean filtered drinking water in their school.
I did this on behalf of a charity registered in the UK and the Gambia, The Gambian Schools Project and they will see that every penny that you give goes directly for this project,
their web site is www.gambianschoolsproject.org
You can read more about the Mason Nursery School in Bafuloto and see a video of me with the children at the school in the Gambia by going to my web site at www.katyroberts.co.uk
Thank you, and please open your hearts and make the lives of these lovely little ones better, together we can make this happen.
Love
