Story

As many of you know, I've always enjoyed running and over the last few years and since having Wilbur I've managed to build up to longer distances. I wanted to have an aim so I signed up to the Oxford Half Marathon and decided to run for SSNAP.

SSNAP are an amazing charity which have always had a place in my heart. As a triplet, I was born two months premature, weighing just over 3lbs (Lyd was the smallest at only 2lb 13oz). I spent six weeks in special care before coming home to see my sisters. Lotte and Lyd went home at five weeks old because they were always slightly stronger than me! SSNAP continue to support so many families during such hard times and the people that work for SSNAP are so caring and supportive. There was no doubt that I wanted to run and raise money to help them continue to purchase life saving equipment and research for sick and premature babies.

Ricky is running with me because I'm sure I'll need the help. He's already raised an amazing amount and together we are hoping to raise close to £1000. Thank you for your support. 🥰

In the UK, 1 in 10 babies need specialist care at birth. SSNAP supports sick & premature babies and their families in the Newborn Care Unit at the John Radcliffe Hospital. Imagine your newborn baby needing specialist care at birth. Instead of those very special days getting to know your baby as a family, you’re catapulted into an unfamiliar world of incubators, wires, medical tests and interventions. While your baby has specialist treatment, we provide emotional and practical support to help you through the trauma & upheaval. We’re there to help families cope, and provide state-of-the-art medical equipment and nursing expertise that could save babies lives.
