Hi all, as some of you may know my beautiful mum got diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in May 2016. In the last couple of years she has declined massively and had to be put in a home last summer, something I never thought I’d have to do in a million years. To lose the glamorous mum and best friend I once had has broke my heart, Dementia affects not just the person who has it but everyone around them. She is still my mum and always will be but our roles have definitely reversed. Diagnosis can be a very scary time, leaving you feeling you have no where to turn, I would’ve been lost with the Alzheimer’s Society in those first few months. So please dig deep and sponsor me, even if it’s 50p, I’d love to give something back. Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever.Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.
