Story
The event took place on Saturday 10th September 2022
This Just Giving page has been created in memory of Phil Taylor, the king of karaoke and biggest dog lover we know. Phil sadly passed away at the end of the July after a short battle with cancer, leaving a big print on our lives and hearts. We are challenging ourselves to complete the infamous Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge. All donations will be contributed to The East Lancashire Hospice.
About
You may know Phil as the landlord of The Railway Pub in Huncoat. Phil created a warm atmosphere, welcoming every visitor into the pub with open arms, and being too lenient with those he probably shouldn’t have! He loved to socialise, chat with the crowd and share his wisdom and stories with us all. Phil was notorious for his bad singing that emptied the room but somehow put a smile on our faces. If you had the pleasure of meeting Phil, there is a 99% chance he had his crocs on, unless you met him in his suit & tie days - somehow, he rocked both looks. Huncoat, and our surrounding areas will certainly miss seeing his friendly face whilst walking his beloved dogs. Adored by humans and canines, Phil was great with his dogs and was known as an animal lover. We find happiness in completing this challenge in memory of Phil as we can combine the joy of friendship, nature and animals into one special day.
The Challenge
The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge takes on the peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough and totals at 26 miles.
The Charity
We have chosen East Lancashire Hospice as it was close to Phil’s heart. He has previously fundraised for the cause and we will continue his legacy.
All donations are appreciated, thank you x
