Story
I'm about to take on a big challenge this year. I can currently run 3km with a huff and a puff but my goal is to run the 21km Great North Run 2016 this September. It's one of the biggest half marathons in the world and I have chosen to do this in aid of the Multiple Sclerosis Society. For those of you who have not heard of the Great North Run, it is based in Newcastle and has 56,000 participants.
In Ireland 9,000 people are living with this condition and in the UK 14 people are diagnosed with MS each day. This fantastic charity is focused on helping those who suffer with the condition as well as supporting their families. Since 1956, the MS Society has invested millions into research with the aim to help find a cure. Until this cure is found, they continue to fund research to make sure that those suffering with MS get the best treatments and services they need.
This is going to be my last achievement while I am 28 because I turn 29 the next day, on 12th September! My wonderful partner in crime, Dane, has volunteered his personal training skills to help me train so I know that though I'm only one-seventh of the way there so far, I will get there!
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Please help me in raising funds for this excellent charity and hopefully with all of our help they will find a cure for MS.
