I am well and truly stepping out of my comfort zone this summer to take on a five day trek through the Bucegi and Carpathian Mountains of Transylvania, Romania.  The trek includes a gruelling 2 day uphill hike to the highest elevation, Omu Peak (2507m) where the sights of naturally carved rock formations such as the Romanian Sphynx await.  I will also have the privilege of stopping overnight in the country’s highest mountain hut (although I'm scared of heights!) and will pass the world famous Bran Castle, more commonly known as Dracula’s Castle, en route.  This trek will be a real challenge for someone who's not well travelled or known for their mountain climbing abilities!
