Story
Hello! Thanks for visiting my page and supporting me in this way! Those of you who know me personally will know how much I love getting to live and work on board the GLM. That is why I am so grateful to have so many loved ones all across the world supporting me in this mission.
For those that don't know, here's a little about my Mercy Ships journey so far...
I first started volunteering for Mercy Ships in February 2022 as a ward nurse, and I quickly fell in love with the impactful work and the incredible mission of Mercy Ships. As a ward nurse I witnessed firsthand the life-changing impact that Mercy Ships has on individuals and communities in need. Inspired by the transformative work and the organisation's commitment to bringing hope and healing to those without access to medical care, I extended my initial 3-month commitment to serve 8 out of the 10 months of the field service.
The experience was so profoundly moving that I felt compelled to return for another field service in 2023. After another incredible field service filled with inspiring stories and connections, I decided to take on a new role within Mercy Ships. Beginning in August 2023, I made a two-year commitment as nurse within the education, training and advocacy team. As a team, we work to address systemic challenges and promote long-term change, recognising the long-term impact that education and advocacy can have on the communities we serve.
By helping me fund my journey in Sierra Leone, you will become a valued partner, a Crewmate if you will. As a Crewmate, you are helping to make a lasting impact on the people of Africa. With your support, you are bringing even more hope and healing to the forgotten poor. Please know that any donation made, no matter the amount, is truly a blessing.
