Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am taking part in the London Marathon in memory of my husband Stephen, who died from cancer on 6th August 2011, aged 53. He was diagnosed with metastised liver tumours on 4th February. The primary cancer site was never properly identified but was thought to have originated in the gall bladder. There is no real treatment for pancreatic and biliary tract cancers and survival rates have not improved in the last 40 years unlike other, better understood cancers. The key to developing treatments is research and research requires funding. This is my way of doing my bit to help and hopefully one day find a cure for this most insidious of diseases. Stephen was a larger than life character, the best father, the most generous of colleagues, the most caring individual and the most loved husband. The tragedy is that, once diagnosed there was no other possible outcome with the tools available today. I would like to do something, however small, to change that.
So please dig deep and donate now.
