After being diagnosed with Grade 3 Breast Cancer in March 2014, I underwent 2 operations, 6 cycles of Chemotherapy, 25 Radiotherapy treatments, with an additional 8 booster treatments. As a wife, and a mother of a 7 yr old and a 13 yr old daughter, this news was life changing. I was aware that I was one of the "Lucky Ones" having found the lump myself. I caught it while it was very small, but at the age of 39, I thought things would never be the same again....I was correct. But in a very obscure way, my life has changed for the better. 

 Having attended Maggie's at Clatterbridge during my treatment, I found a "haven" if you like. The friends I have made from going there, whether it be staff, volunteers or people who have received treatment, has encouraged me to go on, to overcome fears, to take up new activities, to take back control of my life. Mark too, has been welcomed by the Centre. He was aware that if he wanted someone to talk to, Maggie's would listen.

 So, with the support of Mark, our 2 daughters, my mum & dad and the rest of our family & very good friends, I am ready to start giving back...which is why Mark & Myself are taking on Maggie's Culture Crawl London, all 15 miles of it!!
