Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Acts of courage beads are awarded to children throughout their treatment. They are a tangible reward for each little milestone and personal victory, and some children end up with massive strings of these beads, many of which are made and donated by lampworkers around the country.
On 26th and 27th July, a group of UK lampworkers are undertaking a 24 hour sponsored beadathon. I would like this total to add to their fundraising total.
So, to help reach our target, I'm going to make a critter for each donation! I have many quirky little fellers in my repertoire to cheer up the kids - my favourite being the frog. Ladybirds and bumblebees are also regulars to the studio!
Your sponsorship will go entirely towards a critter bead made for the kids, minimum donation £2 please.
The beadathon itself will be streamed live across the internet, and when I am at the torch I will continue to make critters so you can catch a glimpse of them in the making, there will of course be other lampworkers there and you can watch them create their beautiful beads too. I will be keeping my facebook page updated with details nearer the time https://www.facebook.com/katnewmanjewellery
The main Justgiving page for the beadathon is here http://www.justgiving.com/2013Beadathon
Either way, for one of my critters, or a donation to the main page, your money will be helping more hospitals get into this wonderful program, and more children to be able to benefit from this brilliant support system.
Thank you for looking, and thanks for your donation
Kat xx
