The Three Challenges, 22 August 2021
Surrey's largest half marathon

Story

I am undertaking three challenges (well for me) over the next five weeks.  On 22 August I am running the Vitality Big Half which is the first half of the London Marathon in reverse.  On 12 September I am doing the 26 mile Walk the Wight with Kevin.  On 26 September I am running the Surrey Half Marathon.  I am raising money for Eikon as it is a local charity of which Kevin is a trustee;  it is also the official Surrey Half charity this year.

The Eikon Charity supports children and young people to overcome difficulties, become resilient and develop into confident adults who contribute positively to their communities. They believe in prevention, and where that's not been possible, in helping early on, before a concern becomes a crisis.Eikon works with young people in schools and communities across Surrey working with and through partners to deliver services that improve young people's physical and emotional wellbeing and mental health.

Eikon helps children and young people to feel safe, heard, empowered, and supported. We listen, we talk, and we help them with the skills they need to live their best life. And we work with families and professionals to make sure everyone gets the support they need, so that young people thrive.
