Anthony Nolan is the charity that matches bone marrow donors and recipients. Every 20 minutes somebody is diagnosed with a blood cancer and for many a bone marrow transplant is their only chance of survival. I have volunteered with Marrow for the past 4 years signing potential donors to the Anthony Nolan register, but it costs £100 to add each of these people.

This is a cause very close to my heart and so I'm taking on this challenge to raise enough to add 20 people to the register - £2000.

I am proud to be following in the footsteps of my uncles and grandfather, all of whom have run the London Marathon (although they unkindly did not pass on their athletic talent to me!). My wonderful grandfather lost his fight to cancer last year and I will be thinking of him every excruciating step of the way.
