Story

The Three Peaks are:

Ben Nevis - Scotland: 1344 metres
Scafell Pike - England: 978 metres
Snowdon - Wales: 1085 metres

Brian Rose, Roz Eyre, Ant Davenport, Rich Hobson, Jeanette Lloyd, Craig Russell and myself will be hiking and Mark Sutcliffe and Diane Rouse will be supporting us, driving between sites and making sure we have fuel to keep us going (food and hot tea !!!)

As this is quite a challenge we have decided to support a charity and we are aiming to raise £5,000 so we are asking you to dig deep and support us.....

We have chosen to support the National Autistic Society, as this charity champions a cause that is close to one of our team members hearts and we know that other friends, family and colleagues are also affected by this development disability.

In short the NAS champion the rights and interests of all people with autism and aim to provide individuals with autism and their families with help, support and services that they can access, trust and rely upon and which can make a positive difference to their lives.

Autism is a lifelong developmental disability that affects the way a person communicates and relates to people around them. People with autism have difficulties with everyday social interaction. Autism is a neuro-developmental  disorder - all of us have neurones in our brains to process thought, they need to fire in the correct order - in the brains of an autistic child or adult they don't fire at all or they just misfire. That is why you cannot give an autistic child complex commands - everything has to be kept well and truly simple.

·         Over half million people have autism in the UK

·         Boys are 4 times more likely to develop autism than girls

·         40% of children with autism have to wait more than 3 years for a clear diagnosis

·         The NAS has helped over 2,000 families and last year trained over 6,000 professionals in diagnosis and support techniques

Please help us support this worthy cause by donating now!

We also have a group on Facebook (TNS 3 Peak Challenge) where you can take a look at some of the training we have completed in preparation for the main event starting Friday 17th July 5pm and hopefully finished Saturday 18th July 5pm!!!

Thanks for your support.
