Kate's Challenges for Breast Friends

Kate's Challenges · 21 March 2016
Thank you for visiting my page. In 2016 I am taking part in a series of challenges to raise money for Breast Friends Sutton Coldfield. The list of challenges may be added to but so far are:
Why am I doing this? I took up running about 5 years ago, and in October 2014 I ran my first half marathon, the Great Birmingham Run. Just four days later I was diagnosed with breast cancer and my world fell apart. After a difficult year including major operations, I eventually worked my way back to fitness and ran the GBR again in 2015, this time raising funds for Breast Friends Sutton Coldfield who had helped me during this awful time. It was an amazing feeling crossing the finishing line!
During this time I have had such great support from my amazing family and friends, and also made many more fantastic new friends through running with SE Fitness and the Boldmere Bullets. I feel very blessed that I can get outside and exercise in our lovely Sutton Park with friends and really want to celebrate this. I don't run very fast, but I want to show people that fitness can be enjoyable and it is also very important!
So this year, rather than just one fundraising event, I have decided to celebrate life and challenge myself, by taking part in a series of activities and challenges. I know times are hard and there are lots of requests for sponsorship, but if you are able to donate even just a couple of pounds/price of a coffee, it would be so appreciated and will make my suffering worthwhile! Thank You
