Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In July 2015, I was diagnosed with aggressive bladder cancer for which I’ve been treated (bladder removed, neobladder made and
chemo). Now it’s time to give something back.
I could do a run and I could sit in a bath of beans but then I thought, what would be really hard? I mean REALLY hard and I decided it would be to keep my gob shut for an entire day. I was going to do 12 hours but due to popular demand it’s been extended to 24.
So, on Saturday March 4th, I will not speak from 9am until 9am the following morning. That’s tough. On that Saturday, I will socialise with friends as that makes it tougher. I’ll also not tweet. Eek.
I’m raising funds for Fight Bladder Cancer, a small charity run by
survivors and their families, which has given me fantastic support throughout my tedious ‘journey’. It works tirelessly to raise awareness, support medical research and campaign for better diagnosis and treatment for a cancer which is largely ignored and yet is the fifth most common, the most expensive to treat and has one of the worst rates of recurrence.
If you can, please donate a small amount. Believe me, I’m going to find this very, very hard.
