Story
Mum and I are raising funds for Mountbatten Hampshire because of the incredible and unforgettable support they have shown our family and our dearly loved dad/husband Mark. When we were first introduced to the hospice it was by far the darkest period of our lives. The kindness, compassion and pure empathy shown instantly put us at ease with what was to come. Dad/Mark and ourselves trusted all those we met and their care for him shone through. From day one and now 18 months later they have done nothing but go above and beyond to help us as a family through such a devastating time. Because of them we are where we are today. We will be forever grateful for their support and raising funds for this amazing charity is our way of saying thankyou. To raise as much money as we can we will be extending the 2k walk/run to 10k.
Mountbatten-Hampshire (formerly Countess Mountbatten Hospice) is a charity which provides free care and support to people with any life-limiting illness, including respiratory disease, Motor Neurone Disease, heart disease, advanced dementia and cancer. We also provide free bereavement and psychological support to patients and their families. We are an independent charity which, each and every year, must raise more than £7m to ensure we can care for the growing number of people who need us.
