Story
Pip and I are going to be walking 50km this May to help raise funds to support Fields in Trust's mission to raise the awareness of the value of our Parks and Green Spaces across the UK.
Here's their official mission statement kind of thing:
Since 1925, this charity has been seeking to raise the awareness of the value of our parks and green spaces across the UK and seeking to protect them, forever. Most of us don't realise that our precious green spaces are not a statutory service, and that most are owned by local authorities who can (and do) sell them off at any time. (!!!)
In fact 94% of our parks across the UK do not yet benefit from the unique and robust protection that Fields in Trust create. The charity's mission is to ensure we all have a park or green space within a short walk from home - something I think we can all agree should be a basic right and not a "nice to have".
Please support us as we make our daily walks do good not only for our health and wellbeing, but for generations of dogs and humans to come. The charity will use your support to champion and protect more parks, forever!
