Kate and Robert are Fundraising for Sheffield Poem-a-Thon for Refugees

Sheffield Poem-a-thon for Refugees and Asylum Seekers · 2 April 2016
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
My husband (Robert de Born) and I are both poets who like to help others as much as we can - so we jumped at the chance to participate in this poem-a-thon organised by Sally Goldsmith, to benefit Assist Sheffield, a charity for helping refugees and asylum seekers.
Some more details via the Poem-a-Thon team page follow:
We will all be raising money for ASSIST Sheffieldwho support failed asylum seekers - who who arenot allowed to work, register as homeless or to be placed in local authority night shelters. Many become destitute, struggling for food, clothes and accommodation. ASSIST says:
£5 could cover expenses for a weekend’s hospitality for an asylum seeker in need of somewhere to sleep
£17 could cover travel expenses to enable an asylum seeker to get to medical and legal appointments
£20 could give a vulnerable asylum seeker a week’sASSIST grant to enable them to buy some food
