Story
I am running my first marathon on Sunday in Brighton - eeeeeek!
I’ve been rather late on the fundraising side of things, simply because I wasn’t sure I could do it. To be honest, I’m still not convinced that I can complete 26.2 miles on foot!
However, since I have now spent more than 75 hours pounding 433 miles of pavement in snow, hail and howling winds at 5.30 in the morning (yes – 5.30am!), I feel I owe it to my long-suffering family not to make a mockery of the past four months of training.
I’m stocking up on jelly babies, but I think I’ll need a little more motivation to get me through as I ‘hit the wall’ at 22 miles – hence writing to you!
What would help IMMENSELY is if you could make a donation to an incredible charity, The Foundation of Peace Children’s Foundation, run my wonderful friend Peace Ruharuza.
Peace left a comfortable life in the UK to return to her home nation of Uganda where she is providing homes for abandoned and orphaned babies and children. When Unicef visited The Fountain of Peace last year, they said that the homes she has created are some of the very best they have seen!
Your donation will mean so much to Peace and so much to me too.
Thanks so much!
