Story
I’m running in the Cambridge Half Marathon in March to raise money for MacMillan Cancer Support, in memory of my Dad. I have only ever run one half marathon which was the Cambridge half in October 2021. Dad had just received his cancer diagnosis in September, but typically made it to the side lines with mum to cheer me on. As I got to about half way I thought I must have missed them but then spotted their smiling faces just when I needed that support. We lost him only a few months later, after such a shockingly short battle with cancer, but it’s during this period I really appreciated how important these charities are in the care and support of people at a time when they need it the most. So in March I run my second half marathon in memory of my wonderful Dad and for a very good cause. Thank you for your support. Kate
