Story
Dearest All,
So I'm running again. But this time it isn't about mud and ice.... this time I'm going for distance!!
On 15th April I'll be attempting to run the Paris Marathon - my first (things to do before you're 30?)
Following various kind and generous questions about which charity I'm raising money for, I'd like to support Sarcoma UK. Sarcoma UK and I continue to have to talk. My friend Jo is still dancing with cancer.
Since being diagnosed with Cardiac Sarcoma [that's Heart Cancer to you and I] a year ago she has undergone 2 open heart surgeries, 360 hours of chemo and last week she was diagnosed with lung cancer. Jo is a lively and ambitious 29 years old, stubborn as they come (and cancer is no exception) and an impressive writer - please check out her new blog if nothing else. It's brilliant, touching and annoyingly witty (be warned, it's blunt and doesn't promise a happy ending). Please google myacheybreakyheart.
The lack of information, research and advice on treating Sarcoma becomes more apparent every day her fight continues. Sarcoma UK continues to struggle with funding which is where we can help.
I don't have a donation target so the pressure is off. Many of you very generously donated for the Hell Runner which I'm so grateful for - we raised £1000!! But if you can spare change this year that would be amazing and appreciated.
Thanks loads,
Kate x
