Story
Believe it or not i, who hate's exercise, am doing an organized 10K on the 23rd June from Wilton House with my Aunty Judy! As you will know my mum sadly passed away from cancer just weeks before her 55th birthday & mother's day this year so we have decided to do this 10k in memory of her.
We will be raising money for the Pembroke Cancer Ward at Odstock hospital, Salisbury, where we spent the last week of mum's life by her bedside whilst she was in a coma. The staff on this ward showed true care & respect in every aspect of looking after mum & keeping her pain at bay, even down to brushing her hair & moisturizing her hands.
If it wasn’t for the money donated from charities then wards like this simply wouldn’t have the funds to care for people suffering from cancer as they do. I fully believe that my mum was made to feel as comfortable as possible during her last few days & that is solely down to the nurses & facilities on this ward, so any money we can raise will be of huge benefit to anyone who is treated here in the future.
As the well known statistic states, 1 in 3 of us will be affected by cancer so the nurses that helped my mum may well help someone you know in the future, so this really is a worthy cause that could help so many people in our area.
Anything you could give would mean so much to me, my Aunty Judy, the nurses on the ward and most of all my mum.
You can simply donate by Paypal or using a debit card, thank you :-)
