Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In April/May I will be cycling John O Groats to Land’s End. Why? Because I want to! It’s something I’ve always wanted to do and when the opportunity came about I just couldn’t ignore it! But, this isn’t your average JOGLE ride…

We are taking the long way home, doing it almost entirely off road! Think moorland tracks, gravel trails, disused railways, and old fire tracks in addition to parts of the UK cycle network.

We will be covering over 2000km (~1300 miles) and the equivalent of 4.25 Everest climbs over the course of ~34 days; on mountain bikes and largely unsupported. We will be camping & wild camping for the majority of the time so we’ll be carrying all our kit as well!

It’s going to be one epic adventure and I can’t wait!

Never one to miss an opportunity, lets raise a bunch of money for charity at the same time:

Exeter Leukaemia Fund (ELF) is a registered charity providing vital support to patients with blood cancer and other disorders who attend the Haematology Centre at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital (RD&E).

As a Biomedical Scientist in the Haematology laboratory at the RD&E I have seen first hand, both professionally and personally, the incredible work & support that ELF provides to patients, their families, & loved ones; the haematology centre & service.

If you have the time and want to find out more about ELF & the invaluable work they do, visit their page here: https://www.elfcharity.org.uk

If you’re on social media and want to follow along, I’ll be using instagram to document my JOGLE journey! @itskatebutbybike
