This year I am running the London Marathon for the second time. I am using this opportunity to raise money for the charity Unique, a UK-based charity that provides information and support for families affected by rare chromosome disorders. As a small charity every penny really does count, for example £10 pays for a family to receive the charity's newsletter 3 times a year, £15 will provide a much needed information pack to a new family seeking advice and support.

I completed the London Marathon in 2009 in just under 4 hours 15min. This year I would love to finish under 4 hours. Knowing I have your support will really spur me on during the next 3 months of training.

Only 18 days to go now. Thankfully the last long run is over (22 miles) so hopefully after a couple of weeks' taper (a runner's favourite word) I will be ready.
