St Wilfrid's Hospice - Moonlight Walk 2010 · 18 June 2010 ·

St Wilfrid’s Hospice provides tailored end of life care both in the community and at our Hospice, supporting our patients living with a terminal illness, and their family and friends. We rely on the generous support of our community to raise the £8million we need each year to fund our services.

Story

Hello Potential Sponsors!

My Mom volunteers at St Wilfrid's Hospice, and they were very good to us when my Dad died. You're literally forking out to make people's last moment on this planet peaceful. And you'd make my mother very happy, and she's a wonderful, kind person who makes extraordinarily good carrot cakes.

On a slightly lighter note, you are also paying to see me suffer. I'm going to be doing a 10 mile walk (so far, so easy) on June 18th. At midnight. It's a Friday night. And it's booze free. And I have feet that get sore (and I become whiney) after about 1 mile, let alone 10. According to my mother, the walk will take around 4 hours to complete, so you're buying my indignation at losing a Friday night on the sauce, sore feet, and writing off my Saturday because I'll be shattered.

It's win-win!

-Kate

For additional information, each year it costs £5 MILLION to run St Wilfrid's Hospice and only 15% of that is funded by the NHS. The rest is found through independant and voluntary sources
