We provide free expert care and support to people affected by life-limiting illness

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On January 15th I'm going to run my first and ONLY marathon!  My motivator is the loss of my Dad, 3 years ago in January.  After a year long battle with cancer (which he took head on and was fighting all the way through) he spent his last few weeks in Willen Hospice.  I cannot begin to express the gratitude our family has for the care they gave him.

At the end of  difficult journey it was the place he wanted to be.  We were fortunate and he was able to be accommodated.  The doctors, nurses and volunteers were so kind, patient and respectful.  In difficult circumstances, Willen also meant so much to our family.  It was a safe place where we could 'just be'.

Three years on Willen continues to support our family.  Via their bereavement programme my Mum has met so many people in a similar position to herself.  It has really changed her life.

Please donate to this wonderful hospice, who have helped my family, friends and their relatives and will continue to support many many more in the future.
