The reason I chose to fundraise for Leukaemia Care (this charity provides support for people diagnosed with leukaemia and lymphoma) is very simple: over 15 years ago, at the age of 19, I was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Thanks to successful treatment and fantastic support from my family and friends I made a full recovery and now live a happy and healthy life.
Sadly, Alex's (my husband's) Mum wasn't as lucky as me and she passed away after a battle with lymphoma at the age of 49.
From personal experience, I know that drugs play, albeit a neccesary, but only a partial role in patient's recovery. The support, inspiration and information for patients and their families play a vital role in a successful recovery. Leukaemia Care charity provides a variety of support services for those affected by blood and lymphatic cancer and their families, so please dig deep and donate to help improve the quality of life of people aftected by cancer. Thank you!
