Story
I’ve made the decision this year to support the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation and WOLO foundation..
Jay who spends two weeks helping me put up the display, wife was diagnosed with stage 4 lung and Spinal cancer this year at the age of 43… I have seen the pain and devastation this has caused the family this year.. so have decided to focus the charities on hopefully reducing the risk of this happening to another family. The Roy Castle lung cancer foundation is working endlessly on raising awareness of early diagnosis of Cancer and WOLO supports families with emotional support for families dealing with the diagnosis. I know money is tight this year with utilities etc but please give all that you can when the display is up, as a credit to Jay for not only coming to terms with his wife’s diagnosis, supporting her daily, still continuing to work in my care home, raise his two young children and still be able to help me with this display this year as he has for the past 6 years to ensure everyone has the pleasure of seeing it.. thank you all and hopefully see you on the 2nd December for the turn on ❤️ 🧑🎄 🌲 💡
Wolo Foundation help families living in Sussex through their cancer journeys. They support them by offering practical help and support to make their day-to-day lives easier. They work with local businesses and communities to offer families a wealth of services to support them through their diagnosis, treatment and beyond. Statistics show that 1 in 2 people in the UK born after 1960 will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Life is precious - we need to make the most of it - we only live once - WOLO!
