We’re the National Deaf Children’s Society, the charity for deaf children with any level of hearing loss. Whatever the question or challenge, we’ll help find a way through. We believe in a world where anything is possible for deaf children. Together, let’s make sure nothing holds deaf children back.

Story

In April 2011 I'm running the London Marathon for the NDCS to raise money to help deaf children in the UK.

My youngest daughter Niamh was born with permanent, moderate to severe hearing loss in both ears.  Since then we've benefited from the NDCS and I want to raise some money for them in return.

This is going to hurt! Thanks to Dave Redpath, an experienced marathon runner, I now have an intensive training programme.  He has me running between 30 and 50 miles a week in preparation for April.  He reckons if I'm man enough to stick to his regime I can do the marathon in less than 3.5 hours!

So come on, help deaf children like Niamh all over Britain and Ireland improve their lives and reach their potential.

Many thanks in anticipation of your generosity,

Karl
