Story
Last year sadly I lost my mum to a brain tumour. Having seen the pain, suffering and upset experienced by my mum and everyone connected to her first hand it became apparent how common brain tumours are, and how little support those trying to fight this illness are receiving.
Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer, yet just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease. I think this is unacceptable. I am fundraising for Brain Tumour Research as they are the only national charity dedicated to funding long-term, sustainable research in the UK.
On Saturday 25th February 2017, we are holding a 4 hour Spinathon in a professional spinning studio kindly loaned to us by DW Fitness, Lower Audley in Blackburn. 4 hour's spinning equates to approximately an 80 mile bike ride, so we're hoping you will give what you can in sponsorship, and in return we're going to pedal like crazy and put in some proper graft !
Each hour we're going to have different themed music like eighties, northern soul, rock and the obligatory dance classics, and plan to combine the shorts and lycra with some fancy dress - wigs and sweatbands all round !
Please help me fund the fight. Together we can find a cure.
