Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am standing on the fourth plinth in Trafalgar Square on Sept 3rd 18.00 -19.00hrs. It is part of Antony Gormley's 'One and Other' project and runs for 100 days, 24 hours a day. I am very priviledged to have been given the opportunity to take part in this unique event.
I am going to use my time on the plinth to highlight Childbed fever and I hope to link what I've got to say in with Jessica's Trust. Jessica's Trust was set up by Ben Palmer, he lost his wife Jessica to sepsis caused by Strep A infection only 6 days after she gave birth to their second child in an uncomplicated birth.
Ben set up Jessica's trust in 2007. His aims are to raise awareness into this illness to help prevent other families from going through what his have, and to petition to make Maternity Early Warning Scores standard post natal procedure, if routine temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration rates had been performed on Jessica, she may have received early treatment that may have saved her life.
Take a look at Ben's website www.jessicastrust.co.uk and sign the online petition if you agree with what he is trying to achieve.
Please also donate through my page, this cause is close to my heart. I think that I deserve to be able to raise some money for this trust just by having the courage to stand up on the plinth, I am not only uncomfortable being the centre of attention, I am also terrified of heights!!!!!
