Story
For the Month of March, I have set up this page in memory of our son Thomas who was born suddenly at home on Wednesday 6th March 2019. Thomas was born with 10 fingers and 10 toes and a beautiful little face but we sadly lost him due to his prematurity. Our son was cremated at Kirkcaldy crematorium and we laid flowers in the baby garden after his service; the garden is run by Fife Sands.
Fife Sands are a charity run by volunteers - many of whom have lost children themselves. The support and guidance they provide is of amazing comfort to families dealing with the aftermath of such a life changing event. They work closely with the local hospital to better the service provided to bereaved families. I attend monthly bereavement groups where befrienders are always there to listen when times are tough and I can't thank them enough for helping me this past year.
Since losing Thomas, both Peter and I have struggled to come to terms with losing our much longed for baby. It is for this reason that we continue to live life in Thomas' memory and hope this little fundraiser can be a success to mark his upcoming 1st Birthday and help fund support for the local area. The money raised will be donated directly to Sands.
I fully appreciate that not everyone is able to donate but I thank you for reading this story and I hope that you remember FifeSands for any future fundraisers that you plan yourselves xxx
