Story
I have once again decided to "brave the shave" and donate my hair to the Little Princess Trust. They provide free real hair wigs to children and young people, up to 24 years, who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or other conditions.
Throughout the pandemic The Little Princess Trust ran a "let it grow" campaign and as my hair grows quite quickly I decided I would take part and donate my hair once again to someone who needs it more than I do.
I have decided this time to fundraise for Newport Mind. They are a mental health organisation based in the city of Newport, South Wales, UK and are part of the Local Mind Associations in England and Wales. They work for the better mental health of people by providing a range of services to ensure no one faces a mental health problem alone.
They also provide much needed advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. They campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding.
It has been a very strange time living through the pandemic and I know so many people who's mental health has been affected by the various lockdowns and charities like Newport Mind need our help and support with fundraising to be able to continue to provide these support services.
On Tuesday 17th August I will be saying farewell to my locks with the help of my very good friend Rhianne Holvey, owner of Beauty in Wonderland in Newport!
