Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
August 28th 2015 I was sat in A&E with abdominal pain and heavy bleeding. After blood tests and a number of scans it was confirmed I was about 9 weeks pregnant. I was admitted to hospital that night with a suspected Ectopic pregnancy. The next few days were extremely confusing, being monitored by doctors, coming to terms with the surprise of being pregnant but also trying to comprehend that my baby could not possibly survive. August 31st 2015 I collapsed. I was rushed to theatre with a ruptured tubal ectopic. My baby and fallopian tube were removed and I had to have a blood transfusion for the blood I had lost. Had I not been in hospital when I collapsed I may not be here today. The weeks and months after my surgery were a rollercoaster of emotions. Anger, Grief, Sadness, Guilt, Failure, Loneliness. Had it not been for The Ectopic Pregnancy Trust and the help, support and advice they gave after this ordeal I don't think I could have survived. I'm grateful for all that they did. This is why I've set myself this challenge to walk 1000km over the next 12 months to help raise much needed funds so they can continue the great work they do. Please donate what you can. Thank you. Karen xx
