Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
After taking Agatha to the hospital with a rash that didn't fade under a glass tumbler we quickly learnt within a few hours that she has Leukaemia.
We are all completely devastated with the diagnosis and as parents the knowledge that she will lose her hair is heart breaking as it is her crowning glory.
Broaching the subject with her was difficult but she took it in her stride. We made up a story about 2 girls being best friends and one getting poorly and losing their hair, her friend tried to cheer her up without success until she donated her own hair so her friend could have a wig.
we followed up by watching a video on The Little Princess Trust website. Her reply was "So mummy am I going to look like a boy?" "yes sweetheart you will" "well that's ok because I'm going to give my hair to someone who needs it and then when mine falls out they're going to give me some of theirs. Can I have pink hair? and if not can I have Elsa hair?"
I cried and was in awe of her spirit of generosity and ease of accepting the inevitable.
We are going to donate Agatha's beautiful hair and then when the time comes mummy and Agatha will shave their heads together.
Whilst I know everyone has been so generous to us already if you are able to spare even a pound it would help us to raise some money for a very worthwhile charity.
