Story
After a twenty year battle with cancer, Karen sadly passed away on Sunday 29th March 2020 at the Marie Curie hospice in Penarth.
Karen was a courageous ,inspirational lady who touched the lives of many, Her indomitable spirit will live on in all those who knew her. Nothing ever got Karen down and she worked for as long as she was physically able. Karen loved life and lived it to the full.
Karen spent the last year at home being cared for by her husband Rob and during this time she was also supported by the team at City Hospice.
This support involved one to one therapy sessions, the support of a clinical nurse specialist and the provision of many essential medical aids which assisted in maintaining Karen's quality of life for as long as possible.
Karen went into the Marie Curie hospice in Penarth in February for a few weeks of respite care but unfortunately her health and mobility deteriorated while in the hospice and as such her stay was extended. Karen contracted the Corona virus while in the hospice and it was this that took her from us.
As a way of saying thank you we would like to ask you to make a donation to City Hospice rather than sending flowers so that they can provide care for others in their time of need.
