Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Seven months ago my son Jacob had a motorbike accident. Having arrived at the scene of his accident to find my husband steve and the local ambulance service by his side a parents worst nightmare became a reality. It soon became clear that he needed more specialist care and the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance was sent to assist. Jacob had suffered a broken collarbone, had collapsed both lungs and had cuts and bruises to his chest and face. He had chest drains put in and was put into a medically induced coma before being flown to The Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel. Without the help and experience of the local ambulance crew and the doctor and paramedic with the Herts Air Ambulance I am sure that Jacob would not be here today. I am in awe of all they do and have a debt that I cannot repay for the life of my son. After 5 days on a high dependency unit Jacob improved enough to move out of critical care and 7 days after his accident walked out of hospital to recover at home. Please help me to support this amazing charity as I run the London marathon for them and donate as much as you can spare. Thanks Karen xx
