Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I did it! I cycled 300 miles from London to Paris on 23 July 2014. There were hills involved and I got off. A lot. And crashed and broke my ribs. And got heatstroke. And wasn't very fast. But I did it! A massive, massive thank you to everyone who has supported me, encouraged me, donated and helped make the experience one that I'll never forget (especially while the ribs are healing!!). Big love to you all x
This 4 day route will take me on a route through the English countryside, to the ferry from Dover to Calais, ending at the Eiffel Tower, probably extremely saddle sore and unable to walk for a few days, but hopefully delighted with my achievement! Apparently there are hills involved... I am middle-aged, overweight and a bit wobbly on the road and need massive encouragement!
I am really pleased to be supporting Break this year - in particular their Nelson Lodge short stay respite care centre in Long Stratton, Norfolk. They support over 80 families with a young person with autistic spectrum disorders and other disabilities, providing boarding during the week and respite care at weekends.
I work with carers part-time and know from their stories just how VITAL those occasional respite breaks are. I really hope I can make a difference to the lives of these young people and their families, so please give generously if you can! As an extra incentive, I will post suitably embarrassing photos of red-faced training sessions on here every time we hit a fundraising milestone!
