Karen's Story
I have set myself a challenge this year to run the Cumbrian Half Marathon in October since moving to Cumbria 16 years ago it's something I have always talk about doing, now its something I know I want to do before I turn 50 and times running out!
I have done a lot of charity work raising money for the Alzheimer's society since Mum passed away with Pneumonia in 2012, she had suffered from Alzheimer's for about 13 years and died with this nasty disease. It is the most difficult thing for families to go through and wouldn't wish it on anyone.
Sian's story
Anyone who knows me will know that running is not my strong point but when I sit at my Grandma's bedside who has suffered from Alzheimer's for almost eight years who can't speak or eat. Running 13.1 miles seems the least I can do to help raise money to fight this terrible disease.
The money we raise will help to make it easier and more comfortable for the people suffering, to help their families, to make people more aware of dementia and MOST importantly help to find a cure, to stop us from ever suffering from it.
Our reason for raising money for this worthwhile cause is you don't know who could be effected next it could even be you!!! so if a cure to stop dementia can be found every penny can help.
Thank you for your support.
