I have done many hair-brained things during the past few years but it would be a real privilege to support the NHS in their time of need. Many NHS workers will be putting themselves in the thick of it and I have great admiration and respect for all of them in their aim to save lives.
Many families will be affected by COVID - 19 and will have difficult and challenging times ahead, from my perspective it would give me pleasure to put a smile on people’s faces by doing something fun, worthwhile and for a good cause.
My aim is to run a marathon in fancy dress. I will start off by running around my garden (10 miles) then around the block for an hour (6 miles), making sure I’m socially distancing, then carry out the remainder in my garden (10.2 miles). It will not be quick as I only have a small garden, however I am up for the challenge. I hope to do a bit of live streaming, but it’s not my forte so there may be some technical issues! This should be live from approx.10am. I may even also chuck in some good old 80’s music to help me along....the date for this is SATURDAY 4 APRIL. I aim to start at 7am.
In addition I would like to run in honour of a lovely colleague, who sadly passed away at the end of last week. I worked with Vonnie for a number of years and she really was the kindest and funniest soul. I know she would love this........
