Story
After almost a decade since I last ran a marathon or half marathon, I have decided to return to running to raise awareness and money for the Bath branch of SANDS.
Everyday approximately 9 babies die; almost 1 in every 200 births result in a stillbirth. Please help me raise as much money as possible for SANDS so that they can continue their amazing work supporting families who have lost babies and unfortunately any families who may sadly lose a baby in the future. The families affected by the loss of the babies deserve as much support as they need and, most importantly, the babies deserve to be remembered and honoured.
SANDS are the Stillbirth and Neonatal Deaths Charity, and they offer amazing support to families affected by the loss of a baby.
These are just a few examples of what SANDS do:
SANDS provide memory boxes for the parents when they lose their baby with items such as teddy bears, blankets, a hat and a book for the baby's feet and hand prints to be kept in. This may sound simple but it's so important that the parents have items which their baby has touched that they can either bury with their baby or keep at home.
SANDS offer bereavement counselling and support groups for the families affected by the loss of a baby.
SANDS also hold an annual memorial service at Haycombe Cemetery, Bath for anyone affected by the loss of a baby.
Thank you for your time, please consider donating generously to SANDS and share this page on your social media accounts.
