Cardiff Half Marathon 2014 · 5 October 2014 ·
Around eight years ago, our Uncle (in his early forties) was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. It was a saddening and uncertain time for the family. Unfortunately, around two years ago, it came to the point where Mark was no longer able to continue working.
Mark has always led a very active life, with a particular interest in running. He has been a member of running clubs and during his running career he completed the London Marathon in a fantastic time of 2 hours 50 minutes! Despite being diagnosed with Parkinson's, Mark still remains active. His determination and treatment means that he is able to attend his local gym to train.
As a result of Mark's interests and success we feel it is fitting that through running and being active, we can help raise money to support treatment and research to help people like our Uncle who are affected by Parkinson's disease, giving them and others the possibility of a better future. Mark's positivity and determination has inspired us to run for a great cause!
