Story
Kaitlyn has decided she would like to raise some money for charity by having a sponsored haircut. As you can see, her hair has grown super long over the lockdown period and we never thought we would see the day when she willingly parted with her locks! Our eight-year-old little miss independent has decided it's time for a new 'do'.
Kaitlyn would like to donate her hair (not all of it, I might add!) to the Little Princess Trust but would also like to raise some money for a charity that is close to her heart - PMSF UK.
PMSF UK is a small charity that supports families who are affected by Phelan-McDermid Syndrome. There are less than 200 cases known in the UK and around 1,800 in the world. A member of our own extended family was born with PMS - Charlie is 1 in 4.2 million in the world. This is a condition that affects the tip of the 22nd chromosome which is linked to speech, so many people with PMS don't talk or say very little. It is also linked to Autism and learning can be very hard.
Thanks for supporting Kaitlyn with her first ever fundraising project. We will share some pictures of her hair being cut and her new hairstyle later this week.
