Story
Our staff voted to support the Isle of Man branch of this well respected charity, with many of our families having been touched in some way by dementia. The efforts by the charity to raise awareness, provide treatment and conduct life-changing research cannot be understated. There are many ways to get involved in the fight against dementia and we are proud to support this worthy cause.
Leading the fight against dementia, Alzheimer’s Society is a UK care and
research charity which provides support to people living with dementia and
their carers. Established in 1979, it is a membership organisation which
improves the quality of life for dementia types which include Alzheimer’s
disease, vascular dementia, dementia with Lewy bodies, frontotemporal dementia,
Korsakoff's syndrome, Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease, HIV related cognitive
impairment, mild cognitive impairment, and other rarer causes of dementia. The
charity currently provides a network of over 2000 services in over 230 areas
across England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and the Isle of Man.
We will be organising a wide range of fundraising activities over the coming year to raise money and awareness for this cause.
