Story
Hi everybody!
Here we go again! This years events have been curtailed quite a lot with the copious amounts of rain making the water too dangerous to swim in at times resulting in events being cancelled or postponed, but we're doing our best to fit in a few replacement challenges! Bit of a shockingly low number of medal opportunities this year, and we all know how much I like the medals!
I know times are particularly hard, but your support is, as always, very welcome, in what ever way you can manage.
The events that are going ahead this year are:
26th May - 1 mile swim in the Thames at Victoria Dock London (bit early in the year for my liking!)
7th July - 10 mile midnight walk, Bristol (with 2 freshly broken feet, oh joy)
22nd July - swim across Weymouth bay, and back (drastically, painfully cold, couldn't feel my face for a week!)
2nd September - 1 mile fun run in Harefield, London (yes it's not far... but did I mention I don't understand running?)
9th September - 2k swim down 2 canals and the Amstel river in Amsterdam (first time we've left the country for an event, hope the water is warmer than the Thames!)
7th October - 2.25 mile swim down the Thames from Hampton Court to Kingston bridge (the longest and coldest swim of the year)
And, for the first time since the 12 year old Scoob made me accompany him on his 96 mile cycle to Southampton for the Prostate Cancer Charity and Taylor's NICU fundraising, cycling is making a re-appearance this year
27th October - Midnight bike ride - 100 miles from Greenwich to Standlake Park Vineyard, Twyford and back on my trustee 21 year old Saracen hardtail (more joy)
More events will be added as weather and scheduling allows!
Thanks again for all your support over the last 6 years xxx
