Story
I have always wanted to do the London Marathon but never had the confidence in myself to do it before. I would like to show how having MS doesn’t have to stop you achieving your dreams or in fact can push you to achieve more that you would have done before diagnosis. It is a big step for me to say I have MS publicly and those of you that know me well will know how private I am, that I don’t like to shout about it and would much rather keep it to myself. But by doing this I want to show having an incurable condition can in fact change your life for better and make you realise how important it is to live each day to the full.
.
My friend Donna Shalders is walking it with me. Those of you that know her will know she represents GB in her age group for triathlon. She is going to have to work very hard to keep up with me J..….I believe she has already started her training by going to the World Championships in Chicago this September!
.
I started the training in June to make sure my body could cope with this challenge and have just completed a half marathon distance for the first time. I am determined to complete the marathon to demonstrate to myself and others that have ms that is does not necessarily need to stop your dreams
