As a mother to a smart, talented teenage girl, it is incumbent upon me to show her what positive self-image, confidence, integrity, volunteerism, and leadership looks like. And as a leader in my community and workplace, it’s my responsibility to do the same.

Lifting up and empowering youth and women is a passion of mine, and I am excited to continue to learn, stretch myself, and contribute to making a difference in the lives of women and girls in the community with my 2021 Inspire Atlanta cohort.

As I reflect on my career and volunteer experiences, I fully realize and appreciate they were made available to me because of my stable economic situation and network - from childhood to now – with access to many educational and training opportunities.  I also realize and appreciate that many women in our state do not have that same level – or any – access to these types of opportunities, and it’s not because of lack of talent or time on their part.

And the COVID-19 pandemic and resulting economic crisis continue to disproportionately affect women...

I want all women and girls in our community to have access to the same benefits I and my daughter have - education opportunities, workforce development resources, access to childcare.
