Story
On 31 July I did it - 100 miles on a Brompton in a day! BBC Media Action is a great cause. As many of you know it is my swansong for the charity. It was a super high to leave on and the work is life-changing.
For most of the past decade I have worked for the BBC's international development charity. In a bid to further support its work I managed to pedal 100 miles in one day. All on my trusty Brompton. It has been, by some way, the longest bike ride I have ever undertaken. And it is not too late to support my efforts with a donation!
BBC Media Action uses media and communication to help people in the developing world access useful, reliable and timely information. Our work now reaches more than 200 million people living in poverty and fragile settings around the world.
I have witnessed at first hand the difference the work makes, seeing colleagues rally and broadcast emergency information in the immediate aftermath of last year's earthquake in Nepal. I've been inspired by my colleagues' tenacity, creativity and professionalism. They are a fabulous team making a difference.
The work has lasting impact, providing access to ideas and the potential for change, but we are not funded by the licence fee and we rely upon donations. To help the good work continue please support us through a donation. All support gratefully received. Thank you!
