My Skydive is now booked for March 30th 2014. I couldn't have chose a better date to do my jump as it's Mothers Day and it is also the day before the year anniversary of my Grandmothers passing. A great way to pay tribute to them both. I'm truly overwhelmed by the support I have received and everyone's generosity. A big thanks to everyone that has been a part of it x
I am going to be throwing myself out of a plane at 13,000ft in an attempt to raise money for Cancer Research.
1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetimes. Those stats became a reality to me in 2012 when my mother and grandmother both got diagnosed with bowel cancer. Last year despite their courage and determination they sadly both lost their battles with cancer.
Cancer research fund world leading drug development research across the UK. One day they will beat cancer and the more research they do the sooner that day will come.
For those that know me, I'm not a great fan of heights, so jumping out of a plane at 13,000ft is not something I have ever pictured myself doing, however I though I'd face my fear for such a good cause. I have set myself an ambitious target of £500. As an extra incentive for people to part with their cash, once I manage to raise £300 I will get my legs waxed and if I reach the £400 mark I will get my head shaved. I'm also planning on other fundraising events such as a charity rugby match (which I will take part in) and a cake sale. I will be looking to do the skydive in March/April to give myself plenty of time to raise as much money as possible. I will post the confirmed date on here once booked and update with any pictures of waxing/haircuts :)
